To add a new buy now items, scroll down to the “PayPal Buy Now Item > Add” box. There are only fields that are required to create an item, and all the other fields are additional features.

The two most important fields are “Receiver Email” and “Item Name”. The “Receiver Email” is the email address that is associated with your PayPal account. If the email address is not correct your customers will not be able to send you payment. The next field is “Item Name”, this field is essential for you to be able to know which item(s) the customer is wanting to purchase. This is also why the next field, “Item Number” may also be useful for referencing purposes.

Next, is the “Invoice Number” field, this may be for your own records if you are using any type of invoicing or reference number. After that is the “Price”. If you don’t enter a price, it will automatically be entered as “0”. Only the number needs to be entered, as the dollar sign will be placed for you on the front end of the website.

The “description” field is useful for you to put any type of information regarding the product that may be of value to the customer. There is also an image upload tool when you can upload an image. The image that you upload will be reformatted to fit the module, which is 200 pixels by 200 pixels.

Next are some additional options to choose from.

First is “Allow customer to choose quality”. This is not done on the website, but when the customer is taken to the PayPal website for purchasing. Next is “Add Shipping”. To add shipping, select “Yes” and enter in the amount. Then the next option you can select if shipping is based per item, or as a flat rate. Note that the shipping amount takes affect only if the “overridecheckbox” is checked in your PayPal profile. The “Ask for address” allows the user, when redirected to the PayPal site, to enter in a mailing address. This should be a “Yes” if you plan on shipping directly to customers. Next is “Allow users to add note” option, which offers the users, when redirected to the PayPal site, to add a comment or message along with the purchase. Next is the ability to select the “Currency”. The currency code selected will be applied to the price as well as the shipping amount.

Last are the option fields. These are fields that could be used to give your customers additional options to the product, such as size or color. Each option requires a title, which would be to describe the options. For this example, let’s use size. There are two different “types” to display your options, “DropDown” or “Radio”. Each option may have eight choices, which should be separated with comma. When you have completed the item, click the “Save” button.

Once you have added items, scroll down to the “Items” box view the already entered items.

To edit or delete the item, click the “Edit Item” or the “Delete Item” link. To re-order the items, enter the order number and click the “Save Order” button.

To view your products, log out of administration and navigate to the page that has the “PayPal” module. You should see something similar to the example below.

If you have paging enabled, you will be able to see the pages at the bottom of the page. To view more details or to purchase the item, click the “More Details >>” link. You should see something similar like the image below:

As you can see, the details will show all details regarding the item, including the options. To purchase the item, click the “Buy this Item” button, and you will be redirected to the PayPal website for purchasing
