Editing a Lead

There are three parts to editing leads. Contact Information, Lead Details, and Interactions.

Contact information is the same information that you saw when you added a lead, but with two extra options. Below the additional information field, there are two check boxes: Client and Discontinued. To make a lead into a client, check the checkbox, and when you click “Save” button, it will transfer the lead information to client information. The discontinued box allows you to discontinue a lead, so to discontinue, check the checkbox and click the “Save” button.

Lead Details is where you are able to manage interactions with the lead. Under General is the basic information on when the lead was added and last updated. Below that is the lead intensity and next call date. This is useful for a reminder as to when the lead needs a call back. Next is URL, this is where you would enter the website URL if the lead had one. To save the details, click the “Save Details” button.

To the right of the General box, there is Interactions. These can be anything to note about the lead, such as phone calls, etc. To add a new interaction, fill out the field and click the “Save Interaction” button. Previous interactions will be displayed below the field box. Interactions can not be edited once they have been entered.

Below the General box, there is a box called “Employee vs. Lead Interactions. This box keeps track of which users have been interacting with the lead and how many times. Each user will be listed with the last interaction date.

Next, let’s view the Interactions. To view interactions (these are separate from the Lead detail interactions), click the “Interaction” link at the top of the Management box.

The interaction will display incoming or outgoing calls that have been made to this lead. The calls are grouped by month and year. To see the phone calls for a specific month, click the month name and year.

Once expanded, each phone call will display five columns: Time, Caller, Answered, Assigned, and Completed Date. To view more information about the phone call, click the “HERE” link that is under the More Info column. To learn more about phone calls, refer to the Incoming or Outgoing calls section.

Once you click the “HERE” link, a new window will pop up with the phone call information.

To update the phone call, click the “Update” button, or to return to the leads, click the “Cancel” button.
