Adding an Advertisement

To create an advertisement, scroll down the page to the box labeled “Advertise > Add”.

There are two required fields: “Name” and “URL”. The name is generally the name of the business or advertiser, and the URL is the address of the website that the visitor would go to, for example “www.google.com”. The last field, “Image” is optional; to expand the image properties, click the “Image” tab. When you upload an image, it will automatically be re-sized to fit in the advertisement layout, which is 200 pixels by 200 pixels maximum. When you have completed your advertisement click the “Save Link” button. There is no limit to the number of advertisements that you can have per page.

After your advertisements have been added you will be able to view and manage the current advertisements under the box labeled “Advertisements”.

If your advertisement does not have an image, the name of the advertisement will be display instead. When you click on the image or the name, a new Web browser will open and go to the URL provided.

To edit or delete an advertisement, click the “edit” or “delete” link that is located beneath the advertisement. To re-order the advertisements, enter in the order numbers and click the “Save Order” button.

To view your advertisements, log out of the administration and navigate to the page that you added the “Advertise” module to. It should look similar to the example below:

Just like when you are managing your advertisements in administration, visitors can click on the image or name and go to the website in a new Web browser window.
