Summary

The “Summary” section allows you to view a month’s statistics at a quick glance.

By default the current month will be selected. If you would like to view the summary of another month, beside the label “Reported period” you can select the month and year of the month you would like to view. When you have selected the month, click the “OK” button.

The summary includes the first and last visit of the month selected. There are five columns of data. The “Unique visitors” is each unique user that visits your website; this is determined by the IP Address and a time frame, which is generally one day. The “Number of Visits” is the number of times each of the unique visitors has visited the site. The next column is “Pages”, this is the number of times a page has been clicked on by a visitor, which is determined by each unique person. For example, if one person clicks on the same page ten times in the same day it will only be recorded as one page. The “Hits” column is the number of times one of the website pages has been clicked on and is not based on unique visitors. The last column is “Bandwidth”; this is the amount of data that has been downloaded by visitors, which includes images, pdfs, or any other types of file you have added to your site. In addition to the traffic that is viewed, there is also a “Not viewed traffic” row, which is traffic that could be generated by robots or worms.
