Adding and Editing a SMS User

 

To add a new SMS User, click the “SMS Messaging” link on the side navigation.

There are three fields, but only two fields that are required. First is the username, this can be any name that you like. Next is the SMS Address, which is the most important part because if it is not correct it will not work correctly. The last is the group which is optional, for more information regarding groups refer to the “Add a Group” section.

Examples of service providers SMS Addresses:

*Bell - 10 digit phone number@txt.bellmobility.ca
*Telus - 10 digit phone number@msg.telus.com
*Rogers - 10 digit phone number@pcs.rogers.com

For example, if my cell phone number was 403-856-8569 and my cell phone provider is bell mobility my SMS address would be 4038568569@txt.bellmobility.ca. It is recommended that when you add a new SMS user that you send a test message to ensure that you have the correct address.

When you have entered in the fields, click the “Add SMS” button. You should now see under the “SMS Management” box the new user you have added.

From here you are able to edit and delete the SMS user by clicking the corresponding link. To learn how to send a SMS message, please refer to the “Send Message” section.
