Blacklisting and Whitelisting

When you blacklist or whitelist an email or domain it can only be done per each user's email account. So, if you login to the postmaster account, you are only able to modify the postmasters blacklists and whitelists. If you would like to blacklist or whitelist an email or domain for all your mail accounts please contact Techweavers Inc.

Blacklisting: This is where you can deny an email or domain from being able to send email to a sepecific email account. For examples, say bob@gmail.com is sending you spam all the time, by blacklisting his email you would not receive any more email from him anymore.

Whitelisting: This is where you can allow an email or domain to send to your email, somewhat like a "safe list". Say your friend annie@gmail.com is sending you an email and it keeps on going to your spam or junk mail folder, by adding her email to the whitelist, her emails would come directory to your inbox.

To access blacklisting and whitelisting, login as the specific user you would like to apply them to, and then click on "Preferences".

Click the "Junk Mail Settings" link.

Under Whitelists/Blacklists you will see where you are able to add a new filter, and then located below is the filters that are currently in place.

To add a new filter, select from the drop down either "Blacklist Mail From" or "Whitelist Mail From". In the box beside it either type in the email address, for examples "bob@gmail.com" or if you would like to enter an entire domain, put an astericks (*) in front of the @domainname. For example, "*@gmail.com".

Click "Insert Filter" to add the filter. When the filter as been applied, it will show in the listing below. To remove a filter, click the "Remove" link.
